What's In a HealthyWag Treat?
When it comes to dog treats, it's important here at HealthyWags to choose ingredients that are not only tasty but also healthy for your pets and mine. Here are some of my favorite and healthiest ingredients you can expect to find in the treats I make for your pet.
-
Lean proteins: Our jerky treats are made up entirely of lean proteins such as chicken, turkey, beef, or fish. These proteins are important for building and maintaining strong muscles.
-
Fruits and vegetables: Fruits and vegetables are packed with vitamins and minerals that are essential for good health. You'll find many treats in our shop to choose from that contain ingredients such as apples, carrots, sweet potatoes, or pumpkin.
-
Whole grains: Whole grains such as oats, barley, and brown rice are a great source of fiber and other important nutrients. All of the baked treats here at HealthyWags contain whole grain ingredients rather than refined grains, and for those with sensitive diets I'm happy to provide a grain-free version.
-
Natural preservatives: The biggest reason that I started HealthyWags was because of the artificial preservatives such as BHA, BHT and, ethoxyquin, these are toxic chemicals that none of us pet parents want in ourselves let along the pets that we love so much. My treats are made fresh and go straight from the oven to your home. Should it ever be absolutely necessary, I would use natural preservatives such as vitamin E, vitamin C, or rosemary extract.
-
Limited ingredients: HealthyWags treats have a short list of ingredients. This helps reduce the risk of food allergies or sensitivities.
-
Low in fat and calories: You will find that HealthyWags treats are low in fat and calories to avoid overfeeding.
-
Grain-free: Some dogs may have difficulty digesting grains, so grain-free treats are another option that I offer to your pets. Please let me know if you have any special dietary needs and I can make something special just for you.
By choosing HealthyWags for nutritious and delicious treats for your dog, you can ensure that they stay happy and healthy for years to come.
